Graduation party

I'm always delighted when a family member graduates, giving all the relatives a reason to gather in one place. This year we were celebrating our talented and handsome cousin, Kellin.

Rafting

Fortunately for us, the Roaring Fork river was unusually low this year, allowing for rafting in May. Fortunately for Brody, a raft full of water is a perfect tyke-sized pool. If these pictures aren't proof enough, we are all pretty smitten with him. But then again, I'm kind of enamored with my entire family.

Hanging Lake

Unbeknownst to me, my sweet man was deprived of this piece of Colorado heaven for the past 8 years of our relationship. Of course, upon my hearing this news, I made sure to get our priorities straight this year. His anticipation the whole way up the mountain was contagious, adding a certain perk to my step. And as we approached the railing, tipping off the upcoming destination, I felt my own stomach churn with excitement for him. Needless to say, he was not disappointed. And as we carefully walked out on the age-old log, dipping our toes in the crystal blue water, I felt a sense of fulfillment in getting to share another of life's little treasures with him.

Airport surprise

Ryan and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to go to Colorado for my cousin's graduation. And if that weren't exciting enough, my momma and sister surprised us at the Denver airport by coming 3 days earlier than I expected. An extra 3 days may not sound like a big deal, but I was pretty giddy about it.

Oh, Virginia

We got to spend an extra few days in Lynchburg enjoying the fine company of Chris and Shelley, walking around quaint downtown, and visiting all of the city's gems. We are thankful for any excuse to travel that way and spend time with such wonderful people.

Brunch at TC's

One of the best things about weddings is that they tend to be somewhat of reunions. With our wonderful collection of friends, Hannah and Andrew's wedding and the entire week surrounding it was quite a celebration. Even the time spent working was filled with merriment. And if I do say so myself, everybody's hard work paid off-- their wedding was exquisitely elegant.

We were able to take a timeout from wedding festivities and enjoy a delicious brunch at TC's adorable home and snap a few couple/sibling photos. Can you guess which pair is related?

Cinco de Mayo

To properly celebrate the 5th of May, we progressively dined the night away. First, we rooted for sweet Amanda at the Baja salsa competition, followed by our favorite tacos at El Recodo. We ended the evening on our back porch, sipping on homemade whole fruit margaritas. Do we know how to fiesta or what?

Nashville sessions

Back in May, some dear college friends came to town to work on music like we did then. I can't say I contributed much, but I can attest to the lovely tunes that were created during that week. I love the nostalgic feeling these B&W photos captured so perfectly. Come back soon, all.
