We had so much fun with my family when they came to visit, we tried to squeeze their 6 day vacation into the 2 1/2 days we had with the Bernals. They were nice enough to drive down over Easter weekend to have a big combo celebration of Brittany's birthday, Kristen's birthday, and our Savior's resurrection. No wonder it was such a joyous occasion. I cannot get over how things had bloomed in a matter of three weeks.

Radnor Lake
One of the best parts about having my family in town is being able to "do life" with them. It seemed only fitting to share our usual loop at Radnor Lake, since it has become one of our favorite ways to get a bit of exercise here. I have to say, their fascination with the wildlife and foliage gave me a new appreciation for this little gem of a hike only a few miles from home.

Nashville dining
We enjoyed a perfect mix between eating out and cooking at home with my family. Since we have become such nutrition nerds, we are especially thankful to be living in a place like Nashville that has so many restaurants offering locally-grown, organic choices. While my dad was busy documenting all the yummy food, Jessica and I made sure to take advantage of any group photo opportunities. Even a little afternoon rain shower couldn't spoil our fun.

Our stay-cation
When we couldn't decide between a spring or summer vacation, my parents decided for us. BOTH. They ever so sweetly offered to come to Nashville for Jessica's spring break so that we could afford to travel somewhere this summer.
While the forecast gave me quite a scare, the weather was absolutely perfect while they were here and we enjoyed every bit of it. Between going for walks and taking bike rides, we really only had time left for stuffing our faces. The only thing missing from the entire trip was our dearly loved brother, Jason Reed.
We are so thankful to have family that loves us enough to come visit us when they have time off, that loves being outdoors as much as we do, & that finds as much enjoyment in eating as we do.
